Our Lockdown Refurbishment

Wrenbury Hall Cheshire.png

At Wrenbury Hall, we decided early on in lockdown that we would use the unexpected time positively to enhance, refurbish and renovate various areas of the Hall and grounds for our client’s future events and celebrations. We felt it was important to keep busy and productive, maintaining a forward-looking and optimistic outlook for the business. We continue to keep in mind our aim of updating areas and facilities, whilst maintaining the special character and welcoming feel of the Hall. We would like to share with you some of the projects we have been working on, and will continue to, over the winter months.

 Cloakrooms

We have just completed a full refurbishment of both the Ladies and Gentlemen’s cloakrooms in the main Hall. Both areas have been completely transformed with our traditional, yet contemporary style, in mind. We selected the Burlington design for the basins and toilets which is influenced by the Victorian and Edwardian eras, providing period style and a timeless feel. These have been finished with black and chrome lever taps and handles. The colour scheme in the Gentlemen’s cloakroom is striking, using rich bottle green tiles whilst in the Ladies we chose a softer blush pink tile. We just love the new look and cannot wait for guests to enjoy them.

Staircase

Our 400-year-old grand staircase has recently had a wonderful makeover, the traditional fleur de lis red carpet has been removed and a new more subtle coloured carpet with a geometric art deco pattern has taken its place. We have continued the carpet throughout the entire landing on the first floor to ensure a seamless finish with the Bridal Suite and Dressing Room, which will create the ideal backdrop for wedding preparation photography. We used Maltby’s of Chester to source and fit our fabulous new carpet.

Pelmets and curtains

We have replaced the pelmets and curtains within the main hallway and landing to reflect this more neutral and stylish colour palette so that it now flows throughout the entire building. The windows in the Oak Room and Champagne bar are next on the list, and the dressings will be replaced in December and January with new sumptuous fabrics! We work with Cloughs of Nantwich for all our window dressings.

Orangerie Bar

Plans are well underway for the replacement of the bar, which will be completed by the end of February. This will be on the same footprint, but with a more glamorous and sophisticated appearance and will harmonise with the Orangerie’s classic and contemporary style.

And it’s not just the inside we have been working on…

Our team have been working really hard on our new woodland area which will consist of a lovely grassed expanse with beautiful trees and flowers scattered around and a traditional Oak swing seat. This area will offer lots of opportunities for photographers to capture romantic and intimate shots and should be completely finished for Spring 2021 so make sure to look out for pictures of this coming soon!
